How much does PrEP cost?

If you have Medicare

If you are covered by Medicare you can access PrEP at a subsidised price thanks to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

Cost $30 for 30 tablets which equates to a 30-day supply of PrEP when taken daily.  

Its important to remember to access PrEP via the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme you must:

  • Have a negative HIV test conducted in the last 4 weeks OR
  • Have your HIV tests in progress at the time if your script

If you don't have Medicare

You can still access PrEP. Although pharmacies charge there own prices typically this is around $40.

How do I receive it?

Your Hey Fella doctor will send your script to your phone as a eScript. You can take this to any pharmacy.

Alternatively you can choose to have your PrEP delivered. Ask you Hey Fella doctor about this.
